The Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) Program
The Foundation has been approved by the PA Department of Community and Economic (DCED) Development as an educational improvement organization. This means we are eligible to receive EITC donations, and businesses that donate to us receive tax credits in exchange.

Tax credits may be equal to 75 percent of a contribution, up to a maximum of $750,000 per taxable year. Credits can be increased to 90 percent of the contribution, if a business agrees to provide same amount for two consecutive tax years.

Eligible businesses include those authorized to do business in Pennsylvania and which are subject to one or more of the following taxes:

- Corporate Net Income Tax
- Capital Stock Franchise Tax
- Bank and Trust Company Shares Tax
- Title Insurance Companies Shares Tax
- Insurance Premiums Tax
- Mutual Thrift Institution Tax
- Insurance Company Law of 1921
- Personal Income Tax of S corporation shareholders or Partnership partners

EITC Application Timeline

May 16– Business applicants who have fulfilled their 2-year commitment and wish to reapply in FY 16/17 to renew their 2-year commitment.

May 16– Businesses who are in the middle of their 2-year commitment.

July 1– All other businesses including Pre-K business applications.

Dedicated Giving
Have you thought about donating to the Foundation but want to be sure your dollars are going to a project, initiative or materials that you support? Then “dedicated giving” might be the best option for you. Select from the following areas of focus:

- Academics – Examples might include lab equipment, classroom materials or outside programs/assemblies that tie into classroom instruction
- Technology – Examples might include mobile devices such as laptops, iPads, tablets, or large-screen instructional TVs, projectors, teacher desktops
- Athletics – Examples might include golf carts for trainers/coaches, synthetic turf athletic fields, or other equipment
- Arts – Examples might include music and art master classes, professional performances that tie into the curriculum, musical equipment
